About Us

Wellingtons Nursery is based in a purpose-built setting attached to Wellington Hill Residents Association. Childcare provision has been at the heart of WHRA, serving the community for over 30 years. The original Pre-School closed its doors in December 2017. Wellingtons Nursery builds upon the nurturing reputation of its predecessor, providing a safe and stimulating environment where children learn, play and grow. It offers working parents flexible provision 50 weeks of the year from 8am to 6pm. We also offer term time only places.

Wellingtons Nursery is the vision of Jo Hickling. Jo is married with three children and a large extended family. After gaining her childcare qualifications Jo worked at Wellington Hill Pre-School, eventually moving on and working in mainstream education for several years. Jo loved her time at Wellington Hill and maintains her passion for community and good quality early years provision  .

Fiona

Nursery Manager

I have worked in a variety of childcare settings for over 18 years,  I also ran my own childminding business for a few years, before becoming a mummy to two amazing children. I love coming to work every day knowing that I am helping provide a safe and nourishing environment for each child to learn and grow to their best ability.  My biggest achievement other than becoming a mummy was I become the NDNA’S Nursery Practitioner of the year runner up in the country in 2010, nominated by the parents from my Nursery.
